No Flowers in Eden

June 2026. The Basement Gallery at University of California, Davis.

Exhibition Lookbook

No Flowers in Eden is an exhibition that reflects on childhood memories, mothering, and our connection to Earth. Kendall M. Kennedy, Madisyn Audri Johns, and Nadia Dean explore their identities and experiences through mixed media works. We allow ourselves to question the beliefs we’re taught as children, and reform them into truer versions in adulthood (or as Kennedy puts it: visiting familiar places with wiser eyes). We incorporate ecological materials such as natural dyes and pigments in order to repay and communicate with Mother Nature and collapse time. We invite you to reflect on questions of your own at No Flowers in Eden

Childhood video compilation.
